Doubt

Do you ever have doubts? We've just returned from a totally unexpected movie....Doubt. I had no idea. I mean, we are so not mainstream anything.....we rarely see movies, know music, shows, actors, etc. So, here we end up at this movie. If you've ever struggled with doubt in your life, the lack of facts or no facts in a challenging situation, or suspicion it'll hit you right between the eyes. And if you've encountered the more ethereal emotions of compassion and kindness, you'll easily see yourself in this film. Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman can do no wrong.

To be honest, I have seen this trailer twice and for some reason it fills me with fear at the thought of seeing it. I hate when I have to make decisions based on gut feelings, knowing if I'm wrong and act, I will damage, but also knowing if I'm right and don't act, i will damage as well. Ignorance is bliss is truer than i like to admit, but I have been cursed with the need to know and see the truth as best I can with my limited perceptions and knowledge and have never enjoyed the comfort of ignorance. Perhaps, some day, I will see this movie. Thanks for your thoughts on it, though.

Hi Lewis,
Not really sure why you decided to cut and chuck with me but thought I would drop by and say Hello , as it has been quite some time now...

Hope you are both well!

The commercials for that movie have me intrigued! I love Meryl Streep, and I am interested to see exactly how they weave the doubt and if it is resolved.

I've heard this film is terrific, and want to see it soon. Many Oscar nods, too.

I'm like you, I don't keep up with movies much either. I usually don't discover them until they are recommended on Netflix.

But I do love Meryl Streep. Perhaps I'll check this out.

some day try to see the play - there was a lot of material cut for the movie. Both are good but the play is better.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look for it. I enjoy movies that are like anything else I've seen before.

I saw the play last year and was absolutely impressed with the story. We haven't seen the movie yet, but hope to before the Oscars.
