17 Years And Still Missing Him
My father passed away 17 years ago today. Click over on the link to read his amazing story. 10pm tonight, to be precise. I think that tonight's Super Moon is only fitting of a proper way to celebrate and honor him. He was quite the man. So great in a million ways. In many ways we're alike. And in many ways, we're not alike. He would have appreciated me as a gay man, I just know he would. He never had the opportunity to. He would have been 79 today. He died at age 62. Lou Gehrig's Disease is a rotten deal.

RIP Mr Tharp.
Blessings.
Shalom
You're a good son indeed Arnie. Like Damien said, RIP Mr. Tharp.
I'm very sorry for your loss.
The super moon how fitting.
62 is too young. I am glad that you will never stop missing him.
I couldn't articulate it any better than these caring individuals above... care and hugs to you and your family who still miss him so!
Hugs to you, man. We never stop loving or missing those we have loved. You are, in part, who you are because of your dad. Celebrate the life and love you shared!
It still hurts I know
I am glad though that Love is never a past thing but always Now and Ever.
Hold on to the good and golden memories. Make it your aim to celebrate the gift that you were given in your father and not its loss.
Yes brother, he would have appreciated you in any form at all. He was just like that. Additionally, he would have loved and respected your husband.
You're very lucky that you had a close relationship with our father, something I never had. You will always have those warm and loving memories of him. I feel the same way about my Mother, who just died this past September 16th. There hasn't been a day I haven't thought about her. I know how you feel. Sometimes when I'm having a Pity Party for myself over the relationship I never had with my father, my partner Bill reminds me that his father died (in an auto accident) when he was only one year old. He never had a father. I did and for that I am grateful.
