Trump This

Oh kids, I'm not a big fan of The Donald.  I think he's a pretty smart, straightforward business guy and all...but our politics do not coincide.  And that's fine but don't expect me to vote for you.

Mr. Trump is, indeed, against "Medical and Civil Benefits" being extended to same-sex couples in addition to being against gay marriage.  He hasn't yet decided whether I should be able to visit LoverBoy in the hospital.  He said it as one of his clear answers to a clear question.  And if you'd been the one who has been discriminated against in your life, or ignored, or demeaned, or told that you can't marry, or told that you're a disappointment to your parents because of your lifestyle choices, or don't have equal benefits or rights, or had been taxed to the tune of $3,700 per year on your partner's medical insurance, then perhaps you would feel differently.  Until you've been called a queer while riding on a city bus with your partner, there's so little room to pass judgment.  Shut your pie hole, comes to mind.

Beyond that, he's got horrible hair.  But I think he loves that.  And I think it's kind of sexy.  It's given him a whole new level of attraction and provides the media something to chat about.  I tend to like his black and whiteness.  He shoots like me.  Only I'm open minded and he's not.  He's rich and I'm not.  He likes multiple numbers of pretty women and I don't (except for staring relentlessly at their tanned, deep cleavage).  You know, I'm more than willing, sort of, to put up with listening to your ideas and thoughts and what you believe.  But the moment you dive into territory that you've never been a part of -- the moment you start casting judgment against me and my people -- you're in trouble.  So, yeah, go and be big and rich and famous and let the wind blow through your colored hair while you sit in your Madison Avenue suite.  The Donald's disconnect with the real world is clear.  He's up there and I'm down here.

A brilliantly written post. I kind of think this Donald for president thing is some sort of gag.

I can't stand Donald. As a small kid, he annoyed me, so this current whatever is just more shit on top of the shit sundae that I'd already made for him. lol

I concur that the Presidential bid is an attempt to draw attention to his show. However, I do think if he continues to garner enough attention his ego will not allow him to bow out.

Politically, I think this would be brilliant because he would kill Romney's chances and he's the Republican candidate who frightens me the most.

Anyone want to make Trump/Bachman 2012 bumper stickers?

Yes! Big disconnect! You said it well here.
I have to admit I loved your comment about staring into the cleavage... We have that in common my friend (though forndifferent reasons I am sure) ;-)

Isn't it (continually) amazing that those who want to promote "traditional values" are those who should be considered least qualified to do so (i.e. cheaters with multiple wives - like Newt), but are given a pass because they're straight? Also, I heard him this morning on ABC and had to change the channel because I threw up in my mouth a bit with all his frakking idiot birther ranting.

Good post. I used to admire Mr. Trump. I still like the way he speaks out be damn with the consequences. I wish more of our politicians would do the same but then that's an oxymoron - a truthful politician. Then The Donald isn't actually a politician. He is a promoter promoting his own name and brand. The BIG mistake he is making here is that he is changed his position on the GBLT issues which he will regret. I no longer have any admiration for him. I am sick and tired of being used and taken for granted by members of BOTH political parties. Trump is providing entertainment for the media and the same percentage of the populace who voted for Ross Perot will probably vote for The Donald but that's as far as it goes. I hope Trump runs because it will ensure that Obama is reelected. Another good thing about Trump is that he is causing Karl Rove to worry and that HAS to be a good thing. Keep running Donald!

The Donald is brilliant. No one can deny this. Everyone knows he has no intention of running for prez and that he's just whipping up free publicity for his show. He's totally pulling a Palin with this move, and he's laughing all the way to the bank.

It's scary. I really don't think he's kidding. The moron really thinks he's a viable candidate.

The scariest part is that right now I'm listening to a NPR talk show discussing this, and so far the majority of show call-ins are saying that "yeah, uh, maybe he CAN turn this country around." THAT is even scarier! Is America so hopeless that Mr. Unibrow looks better than Obama?

I sure hope not. If he's serious and runs, I'll be out there working twice as hard to get Obama re-elected. And if by some chance that disgusting idiot wins, I'm so out of here. Canada, here I come.

I think Mr. Trump and mrs. Palin should become a ticket item; they are just what the country deserves

Actually, Donald isn't a very good businessman- how many times has he declared bankruptcy (two or three).
