So, what is it that you climb into each night? The bedroom, the sheets, lights, alarm clock, pillows, and whatever else is around your bed (oh, I'm sure there are some unmentionables). It's odd how we get to know each other on a certain level ... via blogs, emails, some photos, possibly even going further into live telephone conversations or even meeting in person. But for most, we don't really have a good grasp of how each other lives -- the basics, the routine and mundane. So, show us! Show us where you sleep. Post a link to your photo in the comments section. I'll start:
Our bedroom is 450 square feet and occupies the entire (former attic) upstairs in our 1928 English style home. The bed and frame are one year old, queen sized (no unsolicited comments, please.....), and a Simmons Beautyrest pillowtop mattress. We've had the yummy down duvet for a number of years and serves us very well on the cool winter Northwest nights. The duvet cover is new, along with the rest of the bedding. It is a 400 count Fieldcrest set in some shade of ecru or eggshell. They are delicious to climb under each night. The decorative pillows are some of my favorites....I love the shades of blues and greens. I sleep on the right side of this photo, hubby sleeps on the left. (And although one of our favorite times of the day is climbing into bed and snuggling a little at the beginning of the night, we are on our own sides during much of the rest of the night....I have to be able to stretch out a little.) There are two windows to the left of this photo (north side of house) that we leave open as much as we can. We're in love with the fresh air of the Pacific Northwest. Plus, the view is northward -- across the Columbia River to Vancouver, Washington. Beautiful. I try to spend a minute or two staring out the window each day. I love to stare. Our night stands are stocked with two alarm clocks (one battery, one electric...because we are never permitted to be late to work...nope, not even one minute); a remote control for television (have to watch Family Guy and/or South Park before bed); an albuterol inhaler; Vick's vapo rub for the nose; and a little ceramic bowl that my horribly artistic honey made many years ago. You'll also see a bottle of English Cotton linen spray underneath the night stand....Use liberally. We are usually under the duvet between 9-10pm. On work days, we're up at 4am. Other days, honey gets up before me....around 5am.....while I typically sleep until between 6-7:30. So, how about you?

The pictures aren't the best but they're the best I have at the moment. You can make out the bed at the far end of the room in the first photo, and you see a corner of it close up in the second shot.

I live in a studio apartment so the bedroom is the living room is the office is the dining room. I got the box spring and mattress both from Sears, one year apart. Thank God for end-of-year sales. They are Full-sized.
There is no bedframe, so the box spring sits on the floor. The cat has used it as a scratching post for almost a year now, so it's not quite in mint condition.
I have three sets of solid color sheets that I rotate: blue, white and black. I have no idea what the thread count is. I got them on sale at Bed, Bath & Beyond (sensing a pattern here?).
I currently have an under-sized afgan my mom knitted for me that serves as a blanket when I need it on cool nights. I had an over-sized duvet from the Martha Stewart collection at Kmart, but when I moved in May, it was so gross I just threw it out. I will need a new one for this winter.
The pillows? I have no idea. I got them somewhere. A dollar store, maybe. I don't believe in decorative pillows. I find them an annoyance.
On the plastic nightstand next to the bed, on the right, you will find various unmatched small framed photos and a clock/radio that carbon dates back to the 80's.
The bed is set parallel to the only window in the apartment, which is thankfully large and takes up the full West wall. I have an unobstructed view of the Verrazano Bridge which looks really nice when it is lit up at night.
I grudgingly rise at 7:30AM and if I'm lucky, I'm in bed by 12:30AM at night.
Glamorous, eh?
You've got a big bedroom!
Mine's about 140 square feet. I turned the whole thing on it's end, the bed in the corner and everything angled to match the bed. The furniture isn't really made for corners and angles, though. There are two speakers in the ceiling on either side of the bed.
Nothing special on the sheets and comforter. I'm cheap when it comes to that stuff, though I've been rethinking that approach to some things.
I had to make the bed for this picture. I rarely make the bed.

We just moved M's things in this afternoon. We are washing the bedding as I type this. I will post a pic as soon as the room is put together.
But, the room is 169sf with a bed, 2 nightstands and a dresser. I get up around 445am. M claims he will get up with me, but for someone who has a hard time getting up at 6, I am thinking this will not happen. We shall see.
Have a great weekend and it was great chatting with you the other day.
GAH! Well OF COURSE you'd come up with this idea for a meme, because you've got a beautiful, spacious bedroom right out of Martha Stewart magazine.
I, on the other hand, have a small bedroom where the bed is completely overwhelmed by shelves full of geeky crap like toys and comic books.
I keep telling myself that my whole bedroom ensemble would work out okay if I could just find SpongeBob Squarepants sheets that would fit a Queen-size, pillow-top bed... but, alas, there are none to be found (Nickelodeon bastards!).
A nice bedroom...
Really love your bedroom. I was intrigued by your use of English Linen spray. What is it and where do you get it? Love those little extras - they add so much.
Here's mine:

Great idea, Lewis.
What a great idea! I'm from Idaho, recently moved from Boise back to Twin Falls, and am moving yet again to Denver shortly. I hope all turns out well with the doctor. Enjoyed your blog, thanks! --Geoff
What a great idea, and you have a beautiful bedroom! Lucky for you my Sister took pictures of rooms in my house; when I first decorated. So I'll use one of those. I will never switch to digital as I love my 35mm camera. But I've got digital, anyhow thanks to my sis. I'll post it later today.
OK, I posted my bedroom. Don't laugh people!

Lewis, what a great meme. I will respond. It may take me a week, but I'll do it.
alas i am in a stage of 'not sleeping'. when i do sleep, it is in the main bedroom, but i often wake around 1am and go to the guest room. i think the smaller bed/room/firmer mattress is more cozy.
Tied for first place in my affection with my kitchen ,oD It's the first thing I see in the morning, last thing I see at night. Glimpsed and visited all day long. It's my sanctuary. I sleep on a futon; I like it's innert beach-dune comfort.
what an interesting post. I like the idea...its very intimate! nice BR by the way
I'll try to take a picture today and let you know when I have it. You have a great bedroom but then again I would have expected no less. :)
very nice...
Pictures have been posted. Enjoy...

I have recently moved. From a house – where my bedroom was very large, full of natural light, blessed with a 14’ vaulted ceiling, and colorful – to a townhouse – where I now sleep in less than 131sf. Only the bed, one nightstand, one dresser, and a chair borrowed from the dining room made the move. It’s tight to say the least. (Left in storage were the armoire, couch, oversized lounge chair, end table, entertainment center, two bookcases, and a nightstand.) Summary: it’s purely functional. Not much happens here other than sleep. However, critical artwork and knickknacks make the new bedroom mine. There are three watercolors, two of Martha’s Vineyard by Karen Turner Larson, and one of a Kansas farmhouse by little-known artist, Mark Johnson. On the nightstand, in addition to the ubiquitous alarm clock, is a marble obelisk from Washington DC and several family photos in small frames. The bed is made everyday, shortly after I get up, including alignment of 12 functional/decorative pillows. Unfortunately the carpeting is a neutral beige and the walls are still white. The one window overlooks a parking lot.
Ugh, I hate all of you and your fabulous bedrooms.

I've gone for a "hotel" vibe as that seems to be the place that I can always sleep a little more and get laid a little more (with the hubby).
Dark walls because its a big room. The sheets and duvet cover rotate depending on the mood of the housekeeper (just like in a hotel).
Three pillows for the husband. Four for me. Two dogs. A feather bed and a down comforter.
The bed is positioned so we look out at the back yard and if the french doors are open we can hear the stream that leads to the pond.
Lewis, your bedroom is very inviting, warm, comforting.
My sweetie and I have just bought a 1949 Chris Craft yacht and are remodeling it. Our bedroom is a wee little space, but just right for the Captain and his First Mate.
