Turning Lemons into Lemonade....The GAY Way!

So, hell....a U.S. District Court Judge (Mormon guy, appointed by G. W. Bush in 2003) tells same sex couples in Oregon that he won't let them gain domestic partnership benefits beginning on January 1. Really pulled the rug outta them at the 11th hour. A real weenie. So, sour lemons...right? Screw it...I'm making lemonade out of it. I went shopping! Online. I found Apollo Wear via a link through a banner ad. Order myself a couple of pair. And Voila! They arrived today. The Diesel boxer briefs are nice and soft and they'll be perfect. The Calvin Klein striped ones....tighter than hell. And I ordered a large (which is way more than I normally do having a tender 31-inch waist). You couldn't even get a cat hair in between the waist band and my tender skin. They're freaking embedded....just like a reporter in Baghdad. So, check them out. Give Apollo a little business if you like. They were prompt, pleasant, and I may have to go back for more.

Obviously the right thing to do in the face of a set-back like this. Go shopping! As a matter of fact, I'm shopping right now in an adjacent tab. Can you see Amazon from there? It's just behind you, a bit to the left...

Gee... for a minute there, this was almost AMERICA, where people are free to live as they choose and everybody enjoys equal rights under the law. I can't decide if I'm sad, or just plain angry, that there are people representing us who want to keep this kind of discrimination alive. Keep the faith, my hetero-challenged brother! :-)

It does seem that activist judges are from both conservative and liberal bents. I do wish the judiciary would stick to interpreting the law and not playing with it... we already have an issue of too many laws restricting too many freedoms without another branch of government striking more freedoms from humanity in America.

I'm not a big shopper, but my underwear brand of the last 15 years has changed the way they make underwear; I'll have to go to Apollo and try to find a new brand next time I'm in the market for a pair or two!

Shopping is a gay mans hobby, passtime, therapy and revenge. Not sure if it's just perception but it seems todays queers are mostly so passive when it comes to civil rights. Sad...but your line about the CKs "They're freaking embedded....just like a reporter in Baghdad." Cracked me up! Wear them in all your fabulousness Lewis!

I will never understand the U.S. .. the supposed land of home and free. Come up to Canada. Land of married gays with same-sex benefits - medical, dental & pension. and those
"unmentionables" look very very nice ;)

ya I think Calvin Klein makes the best underwear. We did evolving all the high schools in Oregon on different things like allowing gay mirage. The majority of high school kids voted for allowing gay mirage so at least are state is getting more liberal. Happy new years. It was 8 to 3 in my class

Ugh. People don't let go of their vicious, petty hatreds easily, do they?

Meanwhile, I can comfort myself with the fact that they are losing. Justice is winning out, though too slowly. Unfortunately, the people truly affected have to continue to wait for their basic human rights while the bigotry takes its last gasps.

Well that was cheery, wasn't it? Maybe I should go shopping.
