A Place Called Hope.....in Idaho?

After all of the bigotry, hatred, and not-in-a-good-way nasty comments overheard on our recent trip to Boise, you'll never believe whose bumper stickers and yard signs we saw more of than anything else in Boise. Yup. It's true. Maybe there is hope?

I always get excited when I see a sign like that too here in the very-Republican Tennessee!

You know how I am about the situation; whether it is Obama or Clinton, I'm just thrilled to see people showing their Democratic pride in their yards!

And believe it or not, I'm seeing a lot of it lately. If it can happen in Idaho... or Tennessee... it can happen everywhere :)

Following the race from my side of the world, and my opinion is that Obama is probably the best candidate.... Just a thought!

I was pleasantly surprised to see the reaction here in PA to his recent comments. A large number of people have not fallen for the McSame/Clinton attempt at discrediting, but have affirmed that Obama speaks the truth. The gap is closing here. Next Tuesday will tell the tale for us here. Given how racist we are, I have become more hopeful as I am hearing folk rise above that. Let us continue to hope that the American people have learned their lessons in the last 8 years.

Well yes, but so many times, the core of what people truly think and feel is still pretty disturbing to me, regardless of how they vote I suppose.

I'm seeing the same thing up here in CDA, though probably not to the same degree as Boise.

Yeah, I hope so. I really would prefer to not have to endure 4 years of Elmer Fudd jokes.

WHEW! There HAS to be hope if not anything else! Sometimes this election seems like a "horror movie" that I am peering through my fingers at... waiting for the scary part to end! :)

I doubt it. "Change" and "hope" are nice, safe words that anyone can sling around in an American presidential campaign without having to be very specific about them. And without the specifics, even deeply-dyed racists and homophobes and other Republicans can endorse them, as they're doing this year. I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed when Mr. Change gets elected and nothing really changes. But maybe not, because maybe a lot of people don't really want real change.

Okay, call me cynical. I just don't see anything very wonderful in Obama--not that I see anything better in Clinton or McCain, I assure you!

O M G. a gay that doesn't support hilary! :-o thank god, because i don't much like her and i was feeling on the out. Yeah apparently obama has a really large following in Idaho...but i'm sure it's because he's the only christian candidate. Although I did receive an email from my grandmother that was anti-obama. lol. i'm not sure she took it seriously, but it was a columnist from the New York Sun.

have a great day lewis...i'm glad you made it home safe. i always hate the drive to boise. :P although sharing the car with someone you love makes it better. AH! i have to get to class! bai!

Let's just hope that Obama and Hillary are still alive after the Penn Primary. Things are getting fierce and nasty!
