Well, it's the same one I get every three weeks or so...but I just knew you were all looking for some horribly entertaining reason to check out the site tonight. Just finished an amazing dinner at the Blue Olive in our neighborhood. Lovely and delicious Mediterranean food. Fantastic for the brother-in-law's 50th birthday! Happy Birthday BIL!

Suffice it to say that it's a little weird. And sad. Along with disappointing, maddening, and even some anger. Bottom line, though, is sad for him. The lies, the cover up, the inability to be honest and truthful. But, before I point too many fingers, I'm afraid that we've all been there in one form or another at one time or another. Hopefully, we're still not. But, alas, some are. I have emailed him again. Here's some of what I shared: "I have no idea the real story. And, honestly, it's not of much interest to me. Whoever you are, whatever journey you're on, and wherever you end up, I wish you wellness and happiness. Take good care." And I mean that. Not only to him, but to each of you.

Two cans butter beans, rinsed and drained.
Chopped: Radish, zucchini, cucumber, orange pepper, fresh parsley.
Char half of a chopped Walla Walla or other sweet onion on the grill. Toss onion into the mix. Add rice wine vinegar, a little sugar, seasoned salt, garlic powder, coarse-chopped fresh black pepper, tablespoon of olive oil, and a sprinkling of red chili flakes. Toss, chill, and enjoy. Along with chunk of heavy bakery bread and a chilled glass of Niagara. It's a veggie sort of guy's perfect salad. After all, it is summer....right?

HOW TO SAVE THE AIRLINES
Dump the male flight attendants. No one wanted them in the first place.
Replace all the female flight attendants with good-looking strippers! What the hell -- They don't even serve food anymore, so what's the loss?
The strippers would at least triple the alcohol sales and get a 'party atmosphere' going in the cabin. And, of course, every businessman in this country would start flying again, hoping to see naked women.
Because of the tips, female flight attendants wouldn't need a salary, thus saving even more money. I suspect tips would be so good that we could charge the women for working the plane and have them kick back 20% of the tips, including lap dances and 'special services.'
Muslims would be afraid to get on the planes for fear of seeing naked women. Hijackings would come to a screeching halt, and the airline industry would see record revenues.
This is definitely a win-win situation if we handle it right -- a golden opportunity to turn a liability into an asset.
Why didn't Bush think of this? Why do I still have to do everything myself?

So, to distract us a bit, we've been taking in as many of Portland's Free Concerts in the Parks series as possible. We've been doing this for years. Grab a sandwich from Subway and go....or use one of their many vendors in the parks for yummy summertime treats. And they let you take in alcohol for these concerts only. So, the dog goes with us, we camp out along with the rest of the Oregonians starved for summer sun and warm weather. It's a casual affair and always a bunch of fun. You'll find something every single night of the week during July and August and we make the rounds to all kinds of parks with different sorts of music. Wish you were all here to join us.
So, that's is....hot summertime, concerts, tons of errands loose ends to tie up, work continues, and a busy week ahead. We'll be living in 876 square feet before you know it. There will be no room for this tummy of mine or this one either.
Update: Oops, I almost forgot that this little beauty showed up in our yard yesterday morning.....an amazing color!

And on this holiday morning, I was wrought with angst over the passing of one of our nation's great forefathers. God fearing, white, Republican, stood for family values and morals, and -- now -- dead. Happy of Fourth July -- Celebrate it in Style, would you?
